Is it just me or does it seem there's more and more food recalls lately? And, the latest food recall from BrucePac is now said to include meal kits sold in a number of states including North and South Carolina.
Food Recall From BrucePac Includes The Carolinas
We first learned of the food recall from BrucePac of almost 10 million pounds of meat, chicken and turkey sometime in the last week or so. And now, according to WSOC, products sold at a handful of stores including WalMart, Aldi and Trader Joe's are part of the recall.
And, these are brands that many, including myself, purchase fairly regularly. Among some of the brands you might recognize in the food recall from BrucePac are WalMart's Great Value, Atkins, Trader Joe's, Target's Good & Gather, Aldi's Little Salad Bar and more. Plus, the recall has affected some of Reser's Fine Foods meal kits containing BrucePac chicken.
And, these are the kits distributed in quite a few states including North and South Carolina and sold under Bistro 28 and Don Pancho. These may contain products from BrucePac that are part of the recall due to possible Listeria contamination.
Although there have been no illnesses confirmed in connection to the contamination, officials urge consumers to check their supplies and toss any products included. Or, return to the store for a refund.
It was just last month Boar's Head deli meats were under a large recall due to possible Listeria contamination. Symptoms can include diarrhea, fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance and convulsions. The sickness is especially dangerous to pregnant women.
