North Carolina’s #1 Spot For Crisp and Delicious Hard Apple Cider

One of my favorite things about fall is the crisp, fresh and delicious apple cider. Particularly the hard apple cider. I live in South Carolina and there is a great place right down the road from me in York County that is our go to. I will tell you where that is in just a minute. North Carolina's #1 spot for apple cider is revealed by USA Today.

USA Today released a list of the top 10 spots for “the freshest apples to produce innovative, unique, and delicious ciders.” And there is just one place in North Carolina that made the prestigious list. According to our source, The Charlotte Observer, out of all the apple picking and apple cider places in the country James Creek Cider House in Cameron, North Carolina ranked 4th overall.

USA Today has this to say about the place, “Equipped with a sprawling orchard that produces more than 60 different apple varieties, James Creek Cider House is a top destination for sampling high-quality North Carolina cider,”“The company offers a particularly diverse array of products, with options spanning from traditional dry ciders to barrel-aged options to bottles infused with fresh, locally grown fruit.”

The Moore County cider house has been around for over 15 years and is owned by real life couple Ann Marie and David Thornton. They based their company on their real life love of hard apple cider in college. James Creek is both kid friendly and dog friendly. And The Thornton's ship their award winning hard apple cider to 38 states. Quite the enterprise.
