I am more than scratching my head over this one. A Gastonia gynecologist shared pictures of one of his patients at a bar no less. And with some hoops to jump through, will allegedly get to keep his medical license. Here's what we know so far. Mad yet? I know I am.
Gastonia Gynecologist Shares Pictures Of Patients
According to our source, wsoctv.com, documents were obtained from the state medical board about Dr. Sean Lynch. Lynch worked for CaroMont Regional Medical Center. These complaints were filed against him awhile ago. Reportedly, there were two complaints filed within three days of each other back in 2023.
And Is Reportedly Allowed To Keep His Medical License
I have had very vulnerable surgeries before. And just hearing that this reportedly took place makes me feel victimized for these women. The complaints against Lynch reportedly claim he had graphic photos of patients on the operating table. And he shared the (what I'm assuming are confidential) pictures with people while sitting at a bar.
Getty Images Stock PhotoAccording to medical board documents Lynch was formally reprimanded. But he will get to keep his medical license "if he follows several terms". Huh? Here are some of those terms directly from Channel 9 in Charlotte," He must be professionally monitored by the state professionals’ health program, and complete a 16-hour medical education course."
Of course we don't know all the details, but any other women out there outraged by this? We trust our doctors to be ethical. We assume it. And certainly expect photos while under anesthesia to be kept private unless medically necessary. For details, get them here from the people who did the investigating, wsoctv.com.
