5 Wellness Days You Should Have Every Month
Self-care is extremely important in such a fast paced world. That’s why scheduling wellness days each month is something that everyone should do. CNBC Make It says that there are five different types of wellness days that you should have every month.
Connection
Having at least one day to connect with others during the month is extremely important. You can do this by scheduling time aside to go to dinner or even just call and talk with those who make you happy. Keeping positive relationships can help you to be happier overall and can even extend your life according to a Harvard study that is still ongoing after 86 years.
Sleep
It can be hard to get proper sleep every night, especially during times where there’s more going on in your life. This is why it’s important to take a day every month to catch up on sleep. You might think that prioritizing work over sleep makes you more productive, but in reality it does the opposite. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention you need to get good quality sleep to actually reach peak physical and mental health.
Self love
Having at least a day every month all to yourself is super important. If you’re able to schedule a day alone every month it can be incredibly beneficial for your mental health. Sometimes, being alone for an entire day can be difficult. This is why you might want to start slow with just a morning or evening all by yourself. This is the perfect day to try a new hobby or practice self-care.
Less time online
Disconnecting from social media for at least one day each month might be hard, but it’s very rewarding. It allows time for you to form deeper bonds with those around you and connect more with the world around you. Setting a limit on certain social media apps might help you to decrease the time you spend on them and help you to stop picking up your phone so many times throughout the day.
No schedule
Having a day with no schedule at all can be incredibly fun and relaxing. It’s a day that can be anything you feel like. It could be doing chores or connecting with others, or both at random times! The point is to have a day where you can slow down with no real rules of what you need to get done.
