We all want a proper balance of things in our life. Positivity is no exception when it comes to things that need to be properly balanced. Too much of a good thing has the potential to be damaging and that's also true for positivity. Luckily GoodNet has some amazing tips on how to properly balance your positivity.

Excessive positivity, known as toxic positivity, can be very bad for you according to New Scientist. Forcing positivity, even during bad times, can cause you or even those around you to suppress feelings and emotions, which is unhealthy. Acknowledging and feeling your emotions as they come is a much better way to heal and work through whatever struggle you're facing. Forcing yourself to feel a certain way in any situation causes you to be untrue to yourself and others around you.

Of course there is also the opposite problem, being negative at all times instead of having positivity in the right moments. The key is to have a proper balance between positive and negative. This is easy to say, but not as simple to actually do. In reality all of this stems from being honest with yourself about your feelings. Both negative and positive feelings are normal and okay to have.

Thinking about things in a positive light can be a great thing if you use it properly. Using positivity to look at things in a better way and make the most out of a situation is a good thing. However, you also need to be able to accept that bad feelings and events will happen and that it's okay to feel negative every now and then.
