A lot of people are opposed to the idea of walking barefoot because they believe it's dangerous or bad for your feet. However, it's actually surprisingly beneficial to ditch your shoes and start walking barefoot for some activities according to GoodNet

Most people don't really think of feet when they think of health, but your feet actually have a large effect on the rest of your body. Foot strength is incredibly important for those who stand a lot because weak feet can affect the entire body. This is where walking barefoot helps.

A study in 2021 published in Nature found that those who walked barefoot for just six months increased the strength of their feet by more than 57 percent. Walking barefoot also helped the participants with balance.

Walking barefoot also helps with body awareness which can help you to walk in healthier ways that reduces damage to your hips, knees, and core. This means that over time you'll have less pain problems and stronger muscles throughout the body as well.

If you're wanting to go barefoot make sure you take it slow at first. You need to gain strength in your feet before you can do things like running shoeless or even walking for long periods. It's also important to keep in mind that shoes are necessary in certain situations where the ground could hurt your feet or in public settings.

You can begin walking barefoot by taking twenty minute shoeless walks inside the house, adding more time as your feet get stronger. You can then move outside to places with turf, grass, or sand. Outside activities that require you to be barefoot like pilates or yoga are also a great option.
