Atrium Health Announced Their Big Apology

Atrium is busy publicly apologizing for the personal information that may have been sent to third party vendors like Google and Facebook. How in the world did that happen? Wondering that myself since I am one of the ones that could have been affected.

How Did This Happen?

Information could have been received from third party vendors via "internet tracking technologies". Kinda makes you loose faith a little, not particularly in Atrium Health. You better believe they will double and triple security efforts.

In information directly from our source, charlotteobserver.com,“Out of an abundance of caution,” and because it cannot determine what data was transmitted to the third parties, Atrium said it assumed that all users of MyAtriumHealth or MyCarolinas patient portal were probably affected." Wow!

Here's The Silver Lining, Sort Of

OK so here's some good news. Sorry to keep you in suspense! No social security numbers, financial accounts, credit card information was involved according to the report. But your name and phone numbers was probably released to a third party if your used the Atrium Health patient portal between 2015 and 2019.
