A lot of people would like to be an early riser but have no idea where they should even start. The good thing is there's a lot of great tips out there and Calm has a few to help those who want to wake up earlier.

Slowly adjust your alarm

If you want to start waking up at 5 am it's not a good idea to just change your alarms immediately. Instead, you should set your current alarm to 15 minutes earlier and then keep moving it to be 15 minutes earlier every few days. This slower change will help your body to adjust and makes it less likely that you'll give up on waking up earlier.

Keep a consistent sleep schedule

Keeping a consistent sleep schedule is extremely important. This means waking up and going to bed at the same time every day, even on the weekends! Having your natural clock properly tuned will make it so you can wake up at 5 am every day with no problems at all (once you've adjusted to waking up early of course).

Start your day doing something you love

Make sure you start each day by doing something that you're truly passionate about. This can really be anything that you enjoy like doing a hobby or eating your favorite breakfast food. Doing this every morning gives a lot of motivation to get up and out of bed and will make transitioning from sleep mode to wakefulness much easier.
