Molson Coors Partners With CATS for Free New Year’s Eve Transit in Charlotte

The beer maker is teaming up with CATS to help residents and visitors celebrate while getting home safe.
This marks year 37 of Molson Coors offering free transit rides across the country. The initiative has provided nearly 10 million free rides nationwide since 1988. More than 440,000 rides happened in 2024 alone.
Last year broke records. Ridership jumped 24% between 2023 and 2024.
"At Molson Coors, we're all about celebrating life's moments, and celebrating them responsibly. This year carries extra significance as Miller Lite celebrates its 50th anniversary, a milestone that reminds us how long our brands have been part of the special moments that bring people together," said Alison Hanrahan, community affairs manager at Molson Coors, according to Queen City News. "CATS is an integral part of how Charlotte stays connected, and we're proud to partner with them once again to help people get home safely this New Year's Eve."
The beverage company makes Coors Light and Miller Lite. In Charlotte, Miller Lite presents the Free Rides program.
"Through our continued partnership with Miller Lite, CATS is ensuring everyone can ring in the New Year with complimentary rides on transit," said Elizabeth Presutti, CATS Chief Administrative Officer. "Whether you're heading to a celebration uptown or catching a ride home, we're committed to getting you to and from your destinations with ease."
Six other cities will also get fare-free rides on New Year's Eve through Molson Coors. Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Milwaukee, Phoenix, and Washington, D.C. will take part.
