Sugar Creek Brewing launched its debut airport taproom at Charlotte Douglas International Airport in Concourse A. The Charlotte-based brewery revealed the news Wednesday.

Travelers can now sip local craft beer before boarding. The spot serves an airport-only brew called "First In Flight" Pilsner. You won't find this one anywhere else. The Big O and other hometown picks from their collection are up for grabs too.

"SCB has officially landed," the brewery said in its announcement, according to Queen City News. They thanked HMSHost and the CLT Airport team for helping bring the project to life.

Sugar Creek has never operated inside an airport terminal until now. The move places them among other craft breweries that have pushed into airport spaces over the past few years.

HMSHost manages food and beverage operations at airports nationwide. They teamed up with Sugar Creek to run this new taproom, working to deliver hometown dining choices to passengers at Charlotte Douglas.

Doors opened on Feb. 25. Passengers in Concourse A can now grab locally brewed beer between flights. That concourse serves several airlines.

Charlotte Douglas has been adding hometown food and drink spots over recent years. Millions of passengers pass through each year, ranking it among America's busiest airports.

The "First In Flight" Pilsner name tips its hat to North Carolina's flying history. The Wright Brothers made their first powered flight at Kitty Hawk back in 1903.

Head to Concourse A if you want to check out the new Sugar Creek taproom. It's there for travelers who need a beer before takeoff.
