Want a fun hike with the family and learn about the most crucial battle in the Revolutionary War? It is right in your own backyard. Check out the Kings Mountain National Military Park and hike the battleground trail! Its a gorgeous nature hike where you learn stuff!

This is what I call the perfect hike for non hikers. It is only 1.5 miles and super well maintained. You will actually be hiking where the battle at Kings Mountain took place with narratives plaques along the way. Historians say it was one of the most crucial battles that ultimately led to our Independence from England. Just tell the kids they are going on a nature hike in the woods and they will learn a lot along the way!
