Let me start by saying, I am so proud to be Ukrainian. With ecological terrorism, Russian air forces and artillery are shelling Ukrainian cities, military bases, and command centers, as well as attacking civilian neighborhoods and buildings with rockets.

Over 370,000 people have fled the country, while many are displaced and forced to take shelter in bomb shelters. At least 102 civilians have been killed, 1,684 injured, children among them.️ Ukraine is successfully repelling Russian attacks. We will continue to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine with strength and unity.️

People from all over the world are donating blood, money, and providing assistance to Ukrainian charities supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine. However, how can all of us in Charlotte help the people of Ukraine? Here are 7 ways you can help Ukraine right now, no matter where you are.️

  • 1. Donate to the Army

In order to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Bank of Ukraine has opened a special fundraising account. Ukrainian government imposed martial law in response to armed aggression by Russia and renewed threats to Ukraine’s independence and territorial integrity, prompting the central bank’s decision. Kyrylo Shevchenko, governor of the National Bank of Ukraine, announced the opening of this account in a video address on 24 February. The special account number is UA843000010000000047330992708. Multiple currencies are accepted on this account. The fund is open to receiving transfers from international partners and donors in foreign currency (U.S. dollars, euros, and pounds) as well as hryvnias. You can use this link to donate to the Army of Ukraine.
