A few weeks ago I actually started running again. It's been hard, but luckily there are tons of greenways for me to keep in shape on.

With the Summer months upon us, running and getting into shape has surged in popularity. Whether you run to stay healthy or to train for another marathon, there’s nothing like hitting the trails after a breezy morning stretch. But which U.S. cities are best for runners?

We are blessed to have so many amazing greenways and parks to enjoy a nice run. LawnLove ranked the U.S.'s Best Cities for Runners in 2022. To mark Global Running Day on June 1 they compared over 180 of the largest U.S. cities. They looked at dozens of metrics, such as access to parks and running trails, trail difficulty, and environmental conditions. They also considered access to running groups, foot specialists, footwear spending, and gym affordability. We made a list of the top North Carolina cities and other nearby running spots below.
