I went straight to the experts and surveyed five thousand active country music fans in North Carolina and South Carolina.  We put together a list of the top ten best country revenge breakup songs in North Carolina from the 1990s and beyond.

I have been an on air personality in Charlotte, North Carolina for over two decades so I consider myself somewhat of an authority on the subject.  But when tackling a subject like this I had to turn to five thousand of my best country music friends.  And you delivered. There are many songs that leave bridges burning in a blaze of glory to a past relationship.

Let’s face it, there are two kinds of breakups, maybe more.  I have had a variety of them.  I have had the “let’s stay friends” breakup.  You know the ones where you part ways but still have a genuine respect and care for each other.  Things just didn’t work out, no harm no foul.  You see them out and about and you go over and say hello.  That’s the nice way for things to end.

Then there is the nasty way. I have had those too.  You know the ones.  The breakup happened because that no good dirty dog cheated, or worse was abusive.  This is what we are talking about right here.  The relationship is over and you can’t wait to light the match on that bridge.

Here are the top ten best country revenge breakup songs in North Carolina according to five thousand local experts.

  • 10) Chainsaw by The Band Perry

There is more than one way to say you are done. And taking a chain saw to all their stuff sends a strong message. You are mad and you might just destroy a thing or two.

  • 9) When It Rains It Pours by Luke Combs

One of Luke Combs first hits hit us all in the feels if we have revenge on our minds.  You know our Carolina boy is bound to make the list in our Carolina survey of best country revenge songs.

  • 8) ABBY by Travis Denning

Oh this one screams I do NOT care. I want Any Body But You ! Coming in at number 8, ABBY by Travis Denning.

  • 7) Truth About You by Mitchell Tenpenny

I have had to tell an ex this before.  Look here, you don’t tell lies about me and I won’t tell the truth about you.  Ouch! And we love it.  Trust me you do not want the truth coming out.

  • 6) Ain't Worth The Whiskey by Cole Swindell

Are we talking cheap whiskey or the expensive stuff.  Either way, you ain’t worth the whiskey.  This might be my favorite title for a revenge country song.

  • 5) Before He Cheats by Carrie Underwood

We love Carrie, she can go from sweet country song to revenge country song quicker than you can take a Louisville slugger to your exes favorite vehicle:)

  • 4) Gunpowder and Lead by Miranda Lambert

The title explains it all. Let me show you what it feels like to be scared in a relationship buddy.  Kerosene, same:)

  • 3) My Give A Damns Busted by JoDee Messina

When you are done, you are done.  Just don’t care enough to give a damn.  Sometimes, it’s just where things land.

  • 2) Here's A Quarter (call someone who cares) by Travis Tritt

While it no longer requires a quarter to make a call.  This song holds up.  Don’t call me, I no longer care thank you very much.

  • 1) Friends In Low Places by Garth Brooks

An overwhelming majority of our North Carolina and South Carolina participants said this is the best revenge country song since the 90s.  I mean when he says “kiss my ass”.  It’s a classic!
