Trisha Yearwood Talks Life On The Road With Garth Brooks
Some couples value time apart; others not so much. Count Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks among the latter.
Trisha recently sat down with People to discuss the pros (there are no cons, she says) of touring with her hubby. They are rarely apart, and that’s on purpose. “We decided when got married 12 years ago to not be together to be apart, so this was a conscious effort on my part to be together,” she says in a video published on People‘s website. “So it’s nice, because when you’re going out to play music and that’s what you think you were born to do and you love to do it, but you’re leaving behind the person you think you were born to be with, it’s bittersweet. So … now when I’m packing my bags to go on the road, I’m going with a person I know I want to be with. So there’s no downside.”
Some of that could beĀ attributed to one of Garth’s morning rituals. “He gets up every morning and makes my coffee,” she says. “And it’s the best. And if I have to get up early, like right now I’m filming my cooking show and I’m getting up at like 6 o’clock in the morning, and he doesn’t have to get up at 6 o’clock, he gets up and makes my coffee.”
Trisha also reveals her favorite Garth songs and talks about her favorite part of staying home over the last several years. See what she means by being a “Bonus Mom” below.
