2017 CMA Music Festival Sets Records
Well the 2017 CMA Music Festival set records yet again.
On Sunday night (6/11) Brad Paisley closed out the 46-year-old event, which boasted the largest fan engagement in its history with visitors from all 50 states and at least 18 countries, according to the CMA. Key statistics released by the organization show that more than 350 artists participated with support from more than 1,1oo musicians. All told, more than 167 hours of music was performed to a crowd made up largely of Gen X and Millennials. Nightly stadium concerts were sold out and capacity crowds were enjoyed at at least two other stages utilized by the event.

“This is definitely one for the record books,” CMA CEO Sarah Trahern says in a statement. “This year’s Festival was marked with memorable moments and one-of-a-kind experiences. We’re happy how fans embraced not only our new stages, but also the city during an exciting historic Stanley Cup run for the Nashville Predators.”
The Preds ended up losing the Stanely Cup Final to the Pittsburgh Penguins, but country music fans might get a taste of how big the combined crowds were during the festival when the three-hour CMA Fest broadcast airs on ABC August 16th.
