Justin Moore’s Jimmy Kimmel Skit Gets An Emmy Nod
A late-night skit starring Justin Moore just scored an Emmy nomination and he’s as surprised as anyone, particularly given is focus.
The “Somebody Else Will” singer was recently informed that Jimmy Kimmel Live‘s “The Ballad of Claus Jorstad (Devil Stool)” could win an Emmy in the Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics category at the 2017 Emmy Awards next month. The spoof has Justin performing a song about an unlucky man in Norway who had a very unfortunate run-in with an Ikea stool in the shower. The skit was written by Jimmy Kimmel and show writer Gary Greenberg.

Justin’s still trying to process the news. “If you had told me I would be a part of earning an Emmy nod for singing a song about what I did, I would have thought you were crazy,” he says through this publicist. “Nonetheless, it’s very cool to hear. I’m excited for Jimmy and his crew. Hopefully, we can bring it home. They told me this week that they would share it with me, so it would be pretty cool to add an Emmy to the mantle.”
The 2017 Emmy Awards will air live on CBS on Sept. 17 at 8pm ET. See a complete list of nominees here. Check out Justin’s upcoming tour dates here.
