New Pineville Fire Station Taking Place Of Beloved Growers Outlet
Pineville’s Growers Outlet was an area staple for decades. Now, following more than two years of uncertainty, a new Pineville Fire Station will take the place of the beloved greenhouse and nursery at 313 North Polk Street.
The town of Pineville bought the property in May of 2021. Around that time, a local television station reported that the previous owner was trying to sell the property and business to someone who would keep it going.
“I’m not going [to] sell it to somebody who is going to push all this down and build something else and do away with my people,” owner Bill Staley told WJZY-TV.
For the Town of Pineville, a new fire station has been a long time coming. The current facility, located around the corner on Church Street, is more than 50 years old.
