Reba McEntire’s New Sitcom Has A Name
Reba McEntire’s new sitcom has a name and a green light from NBC. The new TV sitcom will be called Happy’s Place.
Reba posted a photo of her holding a script from the new series on her Instagram. She captioned the image, “#ICant think of a better way to end the day…a new single and now a new sitcom. We’ll see you at #HappysPlace on @nbc soon!”
Many fans reacted to the post, including one who said, “Can’t wait, it is about time when are u coming back.” Another fan commented, “So awesome!! I’ve missed seeing you on TV!! I recently watched The Gambler, which had you in it. You had some fiery zingers, as always!”
The New Series
The new series will revolve around Reba’s character, who inherits her father’s restaurant. She is less than thrilled to discover she has a new business partner in the half-sister she never knew she had.
The new show will also bring Reba back together with the team that produced her Reba series from 2001 to 2007 and Malibu Country. Kevin Abbott will write the series and executive produce alongside Michael Hanel, Mindy Schultheis, and Julie Abbott.

Why She Loves Acting
In my many interviews with Reba throughout the years, she told me that she finds acting to be another kind of creative outlet and enjoys stepping into a role because she gets to be a different character.
She said, “It’s another creative outlet – that’s why I love acting. When I did ‘Annie Get Your Gun,’ I got to sing, I got to act, but I also got to be another character. I wasn’t Reba McEntire, so that’s what I really enjoy doing – being outside my character.”
Reba will host the 59th Academy of Country Music Awards on Thursday, May 16 at 8 p.m. EDT/7 p.m. CDT/5 p.m. PDT, streaming live exclusively for a global audience across 240+ countries and territories on Prime Video from Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas.
McEntire commented on her ACM gig, “I am tickled to pieces to get to host the ACM Awards for the 17th time! What an honor to have been part of the past, present, and now the future of the Academy of Country Music with Amazon Prime Video. I can’t wait to get to Texas and see everybody on May 16th!”
Reba has a celebrated history with Country Music’s Party of the Year and will take the stage for a show-stopping special performance featuring brand-new music.
The country music icon boasts an impressive record of 16 ACM Award wins and nine nominations for the prestigious ACM Entertainer of the Year, including a win in 1994; she also holds the most nominations for Female Artist of the Year.
