Carrie Underwood: ‘Having A Little Too Much Fun’
Carrie Underwood is making the most of her time in Hawaii this week. She posted a bunch of photos of herself and her band in a Hawaiian shirts frolicking at the beach.
In her first Instagram post, Carrie posted a video collage of herself and her group in Hawaiian shirts and sunglasses to her song “One Way Ticket.” She captioned the post, “Having a little too much fun in #Honolulu with the band! #Hawaii #WeTotallyBlendIn @bassmmmbass @edeasonofficial @chadjeffers @sasheriff @jordancolelawson @sydperryky @mattreviere @sethgrausch #FunGuys.”

In a second Hawaiian photo dump to her 13 million Instagram followers, she shared more group photos at the beach, in a human pyramid, and at a park; she wrote, “Don’t mind us, folks. We’re just out here living our best lives! No band members were harmed in the taking of these pictures! #CUinHawaii #honolulu #FunGuys #BlendingIn.”

While in Hawaii, Underwood added a new and historic first to her list of accolades when, on behalf of Governor Green of Hawaii and the Honorable Rick Blangiardi, Mayor of Honolulu, ceremonial proclamations were presented to her, declaring July 18th, 2024, as “Carrie Underwood Day.”
The proclamations were issued in recognition of Underwood’s incredible career achievements, significant cultural and societal contributions, and her first-ever performances in Hawaiʻi on July 19 and 20, 2024.
Never in the history of the Aloha State have ceremonial proclamations been issued concurrently by the state of Hawai’i and the city and county of Honolulu to honor an entertainer.
Underwood’s Hawaiian concert promotor Rick Bartalini said: “History has been made with Carrie becoming the first artist to receive ceremonial proclamations from both the state and city. She is in prestigious company of entertainers that have been previously honored by either the Mayor or the Governor in this manner, including Elvis Presley, Janet Jackson, Bruno Mars, and Diana Ross.”
Both proclamations were presented to Underwood at an official ceremony at the Blaisdell Arena by Rick Blangiardi, Mayor of the City and County of Honolulu. The Mayor said, “With heartfelt aloha, we thank her for bringing her live show to Hawai’i and fulfilling the dreams of thousands of fans who have eagerly awaited this opportunity. Carrie Underwood embodies the aloha spirit through her talent, love, genuine care, and compassion for others.”
Due to extraordinary demand, Underwood added a second show at Blaisdell Arena back in March after selling out the first in under one hour.
