Thomas Rhett Collaborates With Teddy Swims
Thomas Rhett and Best New Artist GRAMMY Awards nominee Teddy Swims are teaming up for new version of “Somethin’ ‘Bout a Woman.” The song was first released in August on Thomas’ About A Woman album as a solo song.
Thomas adds Teddy Swims’ signature vocals to the song, making it a duet. Rhett said of the new collaboration, “This collaboration has been something I’ve been wanting to do for a while now. Teddy and I first met through our producer Julian Bunetta back in 2020, and it was pretty much instant musical chemistry.”
He added, “I sang on his song ‘Broke’ and then we ended up writing ‘Angels (Don’t Always Have Wings)’ in under an hour. I’ve been wanting to release something with him again ever since, and his voice on this song is insane.”
Teddy Swims commented, “Been waiting to release this song with Thomas Rhett for a while!! He has been in my corner since day one, so when he called me to join him on ‘Somethin’ ‘Bout a Woman,’ it was a no-brainer. It’s an honor to join him on this track—he’s a legend. I love you, big bro!”
They will perform the song on the 58th Annual CMA Awards on Wednesday (11/20), where they’ll mashup “Somethin’ ‘Bout a Woman” with Swims’ history-making, Billboard Hot 100 Number One “Lose Control” on ABC at 7:00 PM CT.

Thomas Rhett Loves the Military
Rhett learned a lot about honoring and supporting our active-duty military and our veterans from a guy who did it on an extraordinary level – Toby Keith. He got to watch Toby do it every night, and Thomas developed his own deep appreciation for those who serve our country, and why it is so important that we always remember everything they do for our country.
Rhett told us, “I got a really big dose of playing for military folks and retired vets when I was out on tour with Toby Keith. That was my first year of touring, and so that was the first time I’d ever been introduced to playing for people like that. And when talking about our troops, it’s just one of those things where you’re very, very thankful for what they do for you.”
He added, “I think a lot of the time, most of the time, we take for granted living in a free country. And a lot of the time we don’t stop to think about who is actually protecting our freedom because a lot of them technically aren’t in our country, they’re in other countries fighting for us so that other countries aren’t fighting against us.”
