Carly Pearce Shares A Dollywood Christmas Memory
Carly Pearce loves the nostalgia of Christmas, and when she thinks about one of her favorite holiday memories, it takes her back to when she was a teenager and a young, hopeful country singer working at Dollywood.
Carly recently told us, “One of my favorite memories is when I worked at Dollywood, I worked in the Christmas show there, called ‘Christmas in The Smokies.’ And I was 17, and everybody else was much older than me. So, what that meant was I had to do all of the things that people didn’t want to do.”
She continued, “So, in the Christmas show, during Frosty the Snowman, I dressed up as a mascot version of Frosty the Snowman. And just thinking about that girl who was literally willing to do whatever to be on stage, so much so that she would be Frosty the Snowman, and thinking about just in my career, how far it’s come, that’s pretty cool.”

Pearce and Michael Buble recently joined forces on the new Christmas duet, “Maybe This Christmas.” The two performed the song last Sunday (12/15), on the stage at the Grand Ole Opry, which was a dream come true for Buble, who made his Opry debut.
Michael told People of Carly, “I love country music, and I love the reverence she has for the heroes that she’s had. And at the same time, she’s a contemporary modern artist who brings country forward.”
Buble also noted that Pearce was the singer for the new song with him, and no one could have helped him nail it the way she did. He told the publication that she “has a penetrating, beautiful voice” and she’s an incredible storyteller. He recalled when he turned to his wife in bed one night and said, “‘There’s no other woman in the world of music that could have done this and sounded like this.'”
Michael said that Pearce brought him into a world he would never have been a part of, and “I couldn’t thank her enough.” He added that there’s not a door closed backstage (at the Opry), sharing that they had an “impromptu jam session” with The Isaacs for an hour, playing Hank Williams and Patsy Cline songs.
Carly introduced Buble to the Opry stage along with Kelsea Ballerini, who will be a coach on The Voice in the upcoming season on NBC.
Pearce said that getting to walk Michael through the Artist Entrance and show him “all of my favorite parts of the Opry House was so special to me.”
