I vividly remember one of the first times I built a LEGO set. It was for my two younger brothers who for all intents and purposes probably didn’t care if I or they built it. In my mind though, I had to build it. It was a Star Wars set, and, if I remember correctly, it was a Boba Fett ship. It was genuinely my first introduction into the world of fandom LEGO sets and honestly, I was surprised at just how many more of them exist now than they did 10+ years ago.
LEGO sets were probably my first introduction into step-by-step instruction booklets. I know that sounds silly, but as someone who just moved and had to put together a lot of furniture, I kept thinking, wow I’m actually good at building these because of LEGOs. I like to tinker with little things like that. It’s probably also why I love putting together 1000-piece puzzles and cross-stitching. Wow, I sound fun, right?
Anyway, did you know that there are so many other fandoms featured in LEGO sets now. Like yes, I knew about the Star Wars collection and Harry Potter, but how about the Lord of the Rings, or even some of the super cool Marvel ones? Yep! They’ve made them now. And because I went down this rabbit hole, I decided to put together some of my favorites that I found. Most of these are now in my cart waiting for me to hit check-out eagerly. If you’ve been on TikTok over the last couple of months, you probably saw when everyone was grabbing the LEGO Rivendell set. It’s a behemoth of a LEGO set. It comes with many bags and a huge instruction booklet. But listen, as a diehard LOTR fan… this is incredible! It has some amazing detail like Frodo’s bedroom and Elrond’s study. Plus, it’s beautiful and I’m definitely adding this to my cart.

Does anyone else hear the opening theme of Star Wars when you see this LEGO set? I mean, it feels like it’s natural for my brain to go there. When I think of advance LEGO sets, I think of this. The Millennium Falcon is insanely huge and it definitely takes time and dedication. But for those of you who absolutely love that, it’s worth it, right? But if that sticker shock has you reeling, this one here is a little bit more of a normal price range.
