NC’s ‘New Normal’ May Mean Restaurants Opening at 50% Capacity
If you live near any type of business and taken a walk or a drive around town, you’ve seen the closed signs on just about everything that is not grocery stores or home improvement stores. North Carolina is on stay-at-home orders until the end of April, but as we cross over into the 2nd half of the month, people have begun to wonder…what will the new normal be?
North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper has offered the possibility of opening the doors of restaurants again, but their new normal will not be the same as it was before. During a press briefing this week he discussed that their new normal could mean only allowing 50% capacity. If dining rooms reopen with half as many seats available, some restaurants could put some people back to work.
During stay-at-home orders, a lot of restaurants have offered curbside take out or delivery, but the real business comes from when their doors are open. You can read more about the story here.
