Catherine Keeps Catching HUGE Bass In This South Carolina Pond
Not sure what is happening at this farm pond in York County, but it is so much fun being part of some special fishing. I just keep catching huge bass in this South Carolina pond! I am wondering if I have some new special fishing skill I never knew I had? Is it the lure bringing them in? The time of year? Maybe it is all of the above.
This farm pond was established about fifty years ago when my Neighbor’s dad owned the farm that I share a part of now. At the time, he and his business associates used the farm as a hunting property. This farm pond is maybe twenty acres long and until recently we never knew it was home to some whopper large mouth bass.
Large mouth bass are the most popular freshwater game fish in the United States. And I can tell you, if you like to fish in freshwater, one of the greatest thrills is when one of those bad boys hits your line and makes a run for it.
Keep in mind, I am no expert. Not even close! My neighbor Jeff actually turned me on to the beetle jig and it is doing the trick. Cast your line underneath a shady tree or in a shady spot near a pier, reel in slowly and do it over and over again til you get someone’s attention. In my experience they strike right away. I am kind of giggling at myself giving fishing advice but I have reeled in not one but two record setting large mouths this month. So, I am kind of a big fish in a small pond;) Want advice from actual experts that really know what they are doing, get details here from Fresh Water Fishing Advice.
Enjoy the pics from last week and this!
