If there’s one thing I can’t stand it’s a hateful hornet. An invasive yellow-legged hornet, or Asian Hornet, has been found in the United States for the first time.
Here is the problem. This rascal feasts on honeybees and honeybees are necessary for pollination in this area. According to CBS, the hornet hails from Southeast Asia and is posing a risk to bee populations and agriculture.
This creature has some size to him. He is a large insect measuring up to 1 1/2 inches in length. You can identify it by its dark brown or black body and yellow legs. The hornet was first detected in this country via Savannah, Georgia. Experts aren’t sure how it arrived in the United States but it is believed to have been introduced through travel or international trade.
