Charlotte Launches Tool to Assist Truckers with Parking
The city of Charlotte is launching a new tool to help truckers when it comes to parking in the city. The new tool is a way to assist truck drivers to find legal parking after complaints from neighbors. Think about it… how many times do you see trucks parked on the side of interstates?
Over the years, residents have complained about truckers parking in unauthorized spots and the potential safety risks these can cause. Now, the city is stepping up to assist with the issues.
WCNC reports that the Commercial Truck Parking Tool will help drivers “find available lobs, outline the rules and regulations and display a real time map with commercial truck parking violations.” The tool will then also parking lot owners to submit their information regarding their lots.
In 2023, WCNC states that truckers discussed the issues with finding parking in the city of Charlotte. Many complain about parking for day to day cars, but as many 18 wheelers are traveling throughout the city the ability for them to find a legal parking spot can be difficult.
Unless it is a rest stop or truck stop, many are having issues finding spots within the city limits.
While traveling, seeing dozens of trucks parked on the side of the interstate has become a normal routine as parking spots are limited for the large vehicles. This new tool will allow them to be able to find spots, as well as, parking lot owners make their areas more visible.
