American Airlines Launches First Direct Flights from Charlotte to Aspen Starting December 2025
Starting December 19, American Airlines will begin nonstop flights connecting Charlotte Douglas International Airport to Aspen/Pitkin County Airport. This will be the first direct service between these cities.
The winter flights will run from Friday through Sunday until March 2026. When tickets go on sale on March 31, round-trip prices should start at $1,185, which is in line with current rates.
The airline will use CRJ-700 planes for this route, American’s longest eastbound flight to the popular ski destination. Travelers will land just 3 miles from downtown Aspen and 6 miles from the Snowmass Village ski area.
With this new route, American expands its hold on winter travel from North Carolina. The airline now handles nearly three-quarters of Aspen flights, with United being its biggest rival.
Winter plans also include beach destinations. New routes will take passengers to Cancun and Punta Cana as 2025 comes to an end.
These ski flights are part of a bigger winter schedule covering Mexico, Caribbean spots, and Latin American cities. Charlotte travelers can now choose between hitting the slopes or relaxing on the beach.
Tickets go on sale March 31 through AA.com and travel agents. This new route helps meet the growing demand for travel between Southeastern cities and mountain destinations.
