Apple To Update Syringe Emoji To Look Like Vaccine
Apple users may soon see some emoji changes, with one directly related to the coronavirus.
The company announced they have decided to change up their syringe emoji so it will look more like a vaccine shot. The original version has the syringe filled with blood, to represent a blood draw. The new one will still be filled, but will now look more like a vaccine so people can use it when they get their COVID shot.
But that’s not the only change coming. Apple is also adding a new headphones emoji that looks like their AirPods Max, and the emojis of people climbing will now have them wearing helmets. Plus there will be new emojis of a heart on fire, a face with spiral eyes, and couples kissing.
Right now the updates are only available in previews of iOS 14.5, but they are expected to roll out this spring, which could be faster than folks in some states actually get their vaccine.
