Charlotte Bakery Is Helping Ukraine Refugees With Their Sweets
The situation happening in Ukraine has been devastating to watch. Many people have been finding ways to help Ukrainian refugees, and that includes one popular Charlotte bakery.
Amelie’s French Bakery just released their new blue and yellow macarons. The blue and yellow colors are meant to signify the Ukrainian flag. They are vowing to donate 100% of the proceeds from these yellow and blue macarons each week to ICRC. The ICRC is an organization that is working to help Ukrainian refugees. They provide things like food, water, and essential needs to refugees. They also do their part to try and reunite families. The macarons cost $2.45 apiece. Amelie’s has four locations in NoDa, Rock Hill, Carmel Commons, and Park Road.
Seeing these families torn apart and living in bunkers is heartbreaking but it’s nice to see Charlotte businesses doing their part to help. Amelie’s has been one of my favorite places in the Queen City since I moved back to Charlotte 5 years ago, so I’ll definitely be stopping by and picking up to blue and yellow macaroons to do my small part!
