Disney Workers Getting A Pay Raise
Disney workers have been in negotiations with the company for months on a new contract. According to Disney Food Blog, they finally have a new one.
They are 6 different unions that represent over 43, 000 full and part-time employees. So you can imagine it would be hard to come to an agreement. They have voted and it will involve a nice raise for many. The new agreement makes the minimum wage for Disney World’s current Cast Members $18 per hour by the end of this year and is retroactive to October 1st, 2022. That is the date their previous contract expired.
Almost all of the 12,700 cast members of Disney in Orlando voted to approve the contract. Once the minimum wage of $18 an hour goes into effect, Disney will be the highest-paying theme park employer in Orlando.
