American Military Veterans Forced To Give Up Hotel Rooms To Migrants
This is a disturbing story out of Massachusetts. Lots of American military veterans have been forced to give up hotel rooms to immigrants. These are reservations that have been made in advance by fans to see the Army/Navy game.
Mark Mansbach, a travel agent out of New Jersey, started getting calls from his clients reporting that their hotel rooms for this weekend’s Army/Navy game were being canceled. He decided to call the hotels his agency was partnering with for the game.
They were upfront and told him, “they were leasing out the hotels to the state of Massachusetts for refugees.” Even with long-standing reservations they were being told the rooms were not going to be available. Mansbach said all clients lost rooms at hotels owned by the Giri Hotel Management.
Mass Governor Maura Healey spoke about this on Wednesday afternoon. “I am very distressed to learn that any veteran may have been moved from a hotel, who had booked a hotel for that game. As I understand it, those were decisions made by area hotels.”
According to fairus.org, the hotels don’t seem to care. A spokeswoman for the company reportedly said, “We are delighted to confirm that we are indeed taking refugees at our hotel.”
Is she delighted U.S. service members had their rooms taken away?
