According to Allied Market Research, skincare had a market value of around $146.7 billion in 2021 and this number is expected to double by 2031. Skincare is currently such a big topic that many people use multiple different products everyday. However, according to CNBC, a board-certified dermatologist named Hamdan Abdullah Hamed says that there is one skincare product that everyone should invest in and wear everyday.
This product is of course sunscreen. Abdullah Hamed says that sunscreen has the most benefits out of any skincare product and that “it should always be used by any skin type of all ages.”
The reason why sunscreen is so important is the protection it provides against sun exposure. Ultraviolet radiation caused by the sun can lead to a bunch of skin problems like premature aging, sunburns, and even increased risk for skin cancer.
The potential for UV rays to cause these problems isn’t just limited to sunny days. These rays are still present on cloudy days, which manes you need to wear sunscreen everyday even if the weather is gloomy.
Wearing sunscreen daily has a lot of additional benefits as well according to Abdullah Hamed. It helps to reduce the risk of all types of long term skin damage. It also helps to maintain a even skin tone and prevents things like sun spots, melasma and hyperpigmentation.
Sunscreen can also be used for anti-aging purposes. This is because wearing sunscreen daily helps to prevent the skin from drying out which can lead to premature aging. The protection against UV rays also leads to healthier younger looking skin.
