A Christmas Tree Shortage In The Carolinas
Christmas tree growers in the North Carolina mountains are dealing with shortages and higher prices this year. Growers across several counties told WSOC TV, inflation and a shortage will drive prices higher. Demand is also higher this year.
They say taller trees are hard to find. Most trees are about 20 percent more this year. Everything has gone up. Steve Watson with Twin Pines Nursery said, “These guys who are shipping trees, the shipping costs has gone outrageous.” Experts say for a 7- to 8-foot tree, customers can expect to pay between $70 and $120 this year.
If this is happening in North Carolina, I would assume it’s the same in South Carolina. Get your tree while you still can.
