Interview: Russell Dickerson On His New Album and His Nickname That Made Us Blush
When Russell Dickerson calls, the party has already started. When we talk to artists it is usually early in the morning and there are a few that are less than energetic. Not this guy. He always brings it. We talked to Russell about his new album and his nickname that made us blush.
Russell’s brand new album just came out and it is called The After Party Deluxe. In it you will find his hits “She Likes It” and “God Gave Me A Girl“. It’s his third and best album we think. And we loved the back story on “God Gave Me A Girl”. In the interview he explains that he actually broke up with his now wife back in college. He knew he loved her but wasn’t sure it would all fit with his budding career.
Of course he came to his senses and voila we have “God Gave Me A Girl”. One of the funniest parts of the interview was when Catherine explained to Russell how most women love artists who seem committed husbands and dads. That is when he told us about the signs some of the ladies make that go to his shows. Warning: this is a little PG-13 related but made us howl and tease him about it more than just a little bit.
