Blinders Sports Bar to Open This Week in South End with Largest Non-Stadium Screen
An incredible 60-foot by 15-foot screen commands attention at Charlotte’s newest sports bar, opening March 20 in South End. The massive display, now up at 225 W. Tremont Ave., is the largest non-stadium or casino screen anywhere on the East Coast.
Blinders, built inside a 1950s factory building, takes up 5,500 square feet. At its core is a state-of-the-art $1.5 million audio-visual setup that aims to make game-watching an amazing experience.
“Charlotte has a bad habit of destroying its history, but luckily this didn’t get destroyed,” Jason Thomas noted to wcnc.com.
Inside, visitors can choose from several spots to watch the action. Private areas hold up to 30 people, while specially designed seating fills the main area. The layout perfectly balances the sports bar atmosphere with an upscale style.
On the food front, the kitchen sticks to tried-and-true favorites. They’ve put together a menu of fan favorites, wings, flatbreads, and fresh-baked pretzels. The menu will change with the seasons.
The bar team mixes both bourbon and tequila drinks expertly. Choose from traditional favorites or try their creative signature cocktails.
The spot adds to South End’s growing nightlife options. Nearby, the Carolina Theater reopens this month after $90 million in renovations, kicking off with the Charlotte Symphony.
Save the date for Monday Night Brewing’s party. On April 19, from 2 to 6 p.m., they’re celebrating 20,000 followers with prizes while helping local cat rescue organizations.
