Fan Favorite Myrtle Beach Japanese Steakhouse Is Growing In South Carolina
We visit Myrtle Beach quite often. And, we have several must-visit spots each time we go. One of our son’s all time favorites is Miyabi Japanese Steak & Seafood on North Kings Highway. It’s super close to the condo where we stay. And, the food is delicious. The only drawback is due to its popularity, it gets really crowded. But, good news comes as the fan favorite announced Miyabi Japanese Steakhouse is growing in South Carolina.
According to The Sun News, nearby Carolina Forest will be the site for “Miyabi Jr. Japanese Express.” The spot will serve similar hibachi type food. But, Miyabi Jr. is fast casual along with “to go” and no alcohol. And, of course there’s no “show ” with the quick knife action, shrimp in the pocket or flaming onion volcano train. There’s already some of these Jr. spots in North and South Carolina. And, they target a September opening for this location next to Lowes Foods, Carolina Forest.
So, it is a good option for folks interested in the food quickly or to go without the entertainment factor. We tend to reserve the traditional sit down hibachi for special occasions. In fact, the last time we visited the Kings Highway location was a couple of years ago during a family weekend visit to see our son at nearby Coastal Carolina University in Conway. His grandparents attended, and it was a birthday celebration, as well. But, with the new fast casual spot opening close to the school in the fall, I totally see our son grabbing his favorite Japanese to-go often!
After all, increasingly more and more restaurants are adding the express option or even doing away with dine in and sit down options all together. I realize that’s probably a response to many factors. We live in a world of everything faster and less formal. And, the pandemic, staffing issues and rising costs seemed to have left changes in eating out that are here to stay. I have to say, though, I miss the experience that going out to a restaurant used to be. But, I love good food any way I can get it!
And, Miyabi Japanese Steak & Seafood also might be eyeing other spots for expansion of fast casual spots, including Pawley’s Island, Murrells Inlet and North Myrtle Beach. And, there’s even talk of additional take out only locations offering food locker pick up like the one in Ocean Lakes. So, keep an eye out as our favorite Myrtle Beach Japanese Steakhouse continues to grow!
