Charlie & Debbie

Unless you’ve been in hiding, you realize there’s a “big game” happening this weekend. And, a lot of us have different preferences when it comes to how we enjoy watching. Some of us will pop in at a party hosted in a friend’s home. However, others prefer the quiet approach of staying in to focus without distraction. But, a large number of fans love the communal activity that comes from enjoying the game at our favorite sports bar with other fans. So, I put together a quick list of sports bars in Charlotte. There are so many amazing spots in Charlotte and the surrounding areas for grabbing some snacks and beverages while watching on the big screen. I would not even pretend to cover them all. For that, I will let you know you can check out the full list provided by AXIOS Charlotte. But, I did choose a handful to highlight. And, of course, I threw in a couple closer to the ‘burbs that I enjoy as well. So, I hope you find a favorite in this quick list of sports bars in Charlotte, North Carolina for the big game!

  • Big Ben Pub

Big Ben British Pub is a solid choice. If you’re ever passing by this spot during a game you’ll notice the crowds pouring out onto the sidewalk. And, it happens to be where Philadelphia fans gather. For this game day, the festivities start at 2 p.m. There will be a heated outdoor tent, TVs and a DJ. Enjoy $15 domestic beer buckets and various themed drink specials. And, the food is outstanding!

  • Tyber Creek

Tyber Creek might be where you find Kansas City fans.  They plan to host with a big screen and bar in a heated tent outside.  It’s also an Irish pub with plenty of TVs inside and out as well as upstairs and down. You’ll find plenty of game day staples on the menu including burgers and wings as well as all the beverages!

  • Charlotte Beer Garden

We visited Charlotte Beer Garden recently on a “Sunday Funday” with friends.  This place is huge.  And, it’s fun!  We enjoyed a delicious warm pretzel with the most amazing dipping sauce.  And, of course plenty of beverages to satisfy. They were recently rated number beer garden in the nation by USA Today.

  • The Lodge: A Sportsman's Grill

With fresh, housemade food items and 19 local brews on tap, The Lodge is a favorite of a lot of folks I know.  The Lodge has over 10 TVs, so you know the game is always on.  And, there’s also stuff for the kids.  There’s chalkboard walls, kids’ coloring menus and food they’ll love.  They’re closer to the ‘burbs on Colony Road in Charlotte.

  • DB's Tavern

DB’s Tavern is one we found recently.  Some friends introduced us to this one, and we love the vibe and the food.  The wings are especially good.  DB’s is at 8155 Ardrey Kell Rd. in Charlotte.  And, not only is it a fun place to watch the game, you can let them cater your party.  Order in advance and it’s ready for pick up.  The packages start at 50 wings choosing up to 2 sauces and 3, 4 ounce containers of ranch or bleu cheese for $70.  You’ll find all the info online.

  • All American Pub

All American Pub is right on the light rail in Charlotte’s South End.   And, it’s not far from home of the Panthers, Bank Of America Stadium.  It’s a great gathering place for sports fans.  The special they offer for the big game is $3 mimosas, $15 mimosa carafe and various other drink specials to celebrate.

  • Angry Ale's

Angry Ale’s in Montford is a great place to gather, and they have a large patio.  The specials they offer for the big game are all you can eat boneless wings for $15.99.  Also, the Angry Ale’s giant 20 inch Philly Cheese Steak with fries for $30.  The Kansas City Special: Rack of Ribs with slaw and fries for $24.  And, of course there’s plentiful drink specials.

  • Graham Street Pub

Graham Street Pub is a casual rooftop bar between Truist Field and Bank Of America Stadium in Uptown Charlotte.  So, it’s a great place to congregate with friends and catch the game.  Their big game day starts with a 3 p.m. pre game.  There’s a DJ, $10 buffalo chicken dip, $12 cheese steaks with side, $12 BBQ sandwich with side and beer towers and mimosa towers.

  • Clutch

Clutch is in Uptown Charlotte and walking distance to the stadium.  Lots of pre game fun starts here on game day.  They are known for a dog friendly patio, more than 20 TVs and fried pickles!  Their big game special is $15 domestic beer buckets other drink specials.

  • The Cotton Room

This is just one I want to mention because it has recently become a quiet little favorite of ours.  The Cotton Room is tucked away on Brevard Ct.  It looks as though you’re popping into a pub in Ireland when you make your way down the alley street and up the stairs into the small cozy space.  The cocktails are expertly crafted, unique and delicious.  There is a place with couches to watch the game.  If you want food, you can grab some delicious tacos from the little spot downstairs across from the Cotton Room.  It’s just a cozy hangout we really enjoy!
