Flight From Charlotte Diverted After Crew Member is Threatened
This seems to be happening a lot.
According to Mercury News, an American Airlines flight from Charlotte to Los Angeles was forced to land in New Mexico Monday night after a passenger threatened a crew member. A rep said “American Airlines flight 482 … was diverted to Albuquerque following a passenger disruption in which a threatening statement was made toward a crew member. The aircraft was met by local law enforcement after landing safely at 10:25 p.m. local time. The passengers involved were deplaned, and the flight later re-departed for LAX.”
The rep did not specify exactly what was said to threaten the crew member. The airborne dispute marks the 323rd unruly passenger incident this year, the Federal Aviation Administration reports. Last year, 5,981 incidents were reported.
