Many country stars make a lot of money. From touring to record sales they haul in a bunch of cash. Let’s leave Taylor Swift off the list because she doesn’t fall into the country category much anymore. These are the top 10 richest country singers.

Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks are country music royalty, and their bank accounts prove it.  In November, Parton released her “Rockstar” album, a cookbook, and a Lodge cast iron collection.

Meanwhile, Brooks opened his “Friends in Low Places Bar and Honky Tonk” and has an Amazon reality show about it.

According to pennlive.com, Shania Twain came in third place. They say “Twain might surprise some folks, but she has been doing it since the 90s in a big way. Aside from her musical success, she has had a gig as a judge on “American Idol,” had successful endorsements, perfume, and even a book that has done well.

On the list of country music’s richest singers, Dolly and Garth rank one and two, respectively, with Dolly coming in at $675 million. Garth is second at $430 million.  Also in the top 10 list are Shania Twain ($410M), Toby Keith ($370M), George Strait ($300M), Tim McGraw ($200M), Faith Hill ($200M), Kenny Chesney ($180M), Luke Bryan ($165M), Alan Jackson ($160M), and Carrie Underwood ($140M).

Let’s face it we aren’t Silicon Valley or the Upper East Side of Manhattan. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t money in North Carolina. And with the lower cost of living here than in other areas, it can be easier to gain and maintain wealth.  Just look at some of the most expensive homes for sale just in Charlotte. There are some high price tags. And the rich, well they tend to hang out with other wealthy individuals. The Oxford Dictionary defines wealth as “an abundance of valuable possessions or money”. I typically think of wealth as the type of money that spans generations. Regardless the wealthiest towns in North Carolina are those with the highest median household income and home values. Our friends over at Suburbs101.com compiled a list of the 9 Wealthiest Towns in North Carolina. Some of these I’d classify more as suburbs but you still get the point.
