Back To Jurassic
As much as I love the movies-especially going to the movies-there have only been a couple of occassions where I would describe the experience as “life-changing.”
The first was in the summer of 1977 when my mom and dad took me to see “Star Wars.” Just wow.
The second came when I was taking a film class in college and my roommate and I went to see a 70mm re-release of David Lean’s classic, “Lawrence of Arabia.” Watching that movie, from the prism of a student, let me know that I had no business even trying to make movies. I didn’t have that eye or imagination.
The third came in the summer of 1993 when Debbie and I were dating and we went to see a dinosaur movie called, “Jurassic Park.” I’d read the book by Michael Crichton and could not imagine seeing it brought to life on the big screen without looking ridiculously fake. Boy, was I pleasantly wrong.
I was 23 years old and had my chin on the ground in amazement just like that 7-year-old at “Star Wars.”
So, I’ve been all in on the “Jurassic…” movies ever since. After a rather lengthy hiatus, “Jurassic World” came out a couple of years ago and completely re-booted and re-energized the franchise. Now, the follow up, “Jurrassic World: Fallen Kingdom” is due this summer.
And from the looks of this new, international trailer, get ready to get REALLY scared.
