Fun Fact Friday: Garth Brooks Turned Down A Role In “Saving Private Ryan”
I also love weird facts, especially when they involve Hollywood. Today, we discuss the film “Saving Private Ryan.” First off, I am a big fan of this film. For starters, Tom Hanks is one of my all-time favorite actors and the entire cinematic score, storyline, and overall filming techniques make it the iconic film that it is today.
For this Friday, I present to you an unusual and interesting fact about Country music star Garh Brooks. According to a report, Garth reportedly turned down the role of Private Daniel Jackson that eventually went to Barry Pepper. In the lawsuit filed by Lisa Sanderson against her former partner Brooks, the musician lost out on money because he is a “paranoid, angry, deceitful, and vindictive man who will turn against those closest to him.”
As noted in a 2013 lawsuit (via TMZ) filed by Brooks’, the country singer also turned down the role because he didn’t want to be overshadowed by Tom Hanks and Matt Damon. Personally, I am not sure I could picture Garth being in this film…but that’s just me. That’s it for your fun fact Friday!
