Meet Two Lane Hometown Legend Chip Perry
Each week in collaboration with Two Lane Lager we are honoring a local hometown legend. Last week’s honoree is Chip Perry of the Chip Perry Band. Read Chip’s nomination below:
Born and raised in Siler City, NC, Chip and his band formed in 2012 and have performed all over NC, SC, and VA. Picking up the guitar and teaching himself to play multiple instruments, Chip Perry Band was playing at venues in Charlotte before being old enough to be in bars. He began writing his own music; at first while sitting on the banks of Badin Lake in Montgomery County. He played for friends on the lake and his songs and musical talent quickly spawned into the recording of a bee CD that features only his ordinal songs. His success continues today at the young age of 26. Chip is a single father to his son, Colton, who he teaches and shares his musical talent. Chip works full-time as a field rep for a local poultry company; following in the footsteps of his Dad and his Grandfather, who also owned and operated poultry operations in past years. Chip is also and avid golfer and operates his own small business of golf club repairs; said to be one of the best at repairing a shaft. Chip finds valuable time to share his love of golf with his son, while also helping to coach his son’s basketball and baseball teams. Chip is our hometown hero, who listens to @country1037fm, and shows his love of country music by sharing his God given talent as a Country Music Singer, Songwriter, and Musician, all while raising his son, working full time, and operating his golf club repair business
