North Carolina’s Eric Church Awarded The State’s Highest Civilian Honor
The North Carolina Award, the state’s highest civilian honor, will be given to Granite Fall’s very own Eric Church. Eric joins six others this year and will be honored for his contribution to the arts on a national level.
Governor Roy Cooper will give Eric his award tonight at the North Carolina Museum of Art according to the Charlotte Observer. The North Carolina Award started back in 1964 and only 250 people have received it since then.
We don’t have to tell you how deserving Eric is of this award. He is of course from Granite Falls and went to App State. No doubt he is Carolina born and bred. He even recorded a song called “Carolina”. He is a 2020 Entertainer of the Year recipient from the Country Music Association along with numerous other awards and skyrocketing record sales.
We feel like we “raised” Eric or certainly was one of the radio stations that put his music on first. His unmistakable talent was soon known all over the country. He wasn’t a secret for long.

6 Eric Church Collaborations We Can't Get Enough Of
Eric Church is celebrating his 45th birthday today (5/3), and one of his latest works is with his friend Chris Janson on a song Church wrote, a dark song and video called “You, Me & The River.”
Known for his solo work as well as working with other artists in the business in Nashville and beyond, one of his finest collaborators on stage is his backup road singer Joanna Cotten. But Eric has also done duets with artists ranging from Luke Combs to Lzzy Hale of metal band Halestorm.
As we mark his special day today, we look at some of his many on-stage collaborations, whether on a record, concert, or awards shows.
