This Gaston County town is growing and so will the YMCA. This Belmont, North Carolina YMCA is getting new amenities. The Y is keeping up with the influx of people moving to Belmont and Mount Holly.
According to the Gaston Gazette, the Stowe Family YMCA is expected to get some updates in the coming year including a new kids wing, a new outdoor pool and more. The facility is already 10,000 square feet but plans to branch out with these new planned amenities. You can find the Y at 196 YMCA Drive in Belmont. It was constructed in 2000 and this will be the first time its been updated.
Management at the Y tells the Gaston Gazette that 2020 and 2021 were tough years due to Covid. The Stowe family Y reportedly has 7,000 members. The new facelift is expected to give current members and future members more choices when it comes to exercise.
