Carolina Renaissance Festival Auditions Are Happening

Okay, before I tell you about the Carolina Renaissance Festival auditions that are now taking place, I've got a MAJOR quick binge-watch recommendation for you. I grew up going to the original and largest of these fests. The Texas Renaissance Festival is located about 30 minutes from the house I grew up in and was a must-do as a teenager every fall. What I didn't know was that it was owned and operated by a madman. If you haven't seen the three-part "RenFaire" on Max (HBO), it is a must. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CHZUVTrrexE&pp=ygUQcmVuZmFpcmUgdHJhaWxlcg%3D%3D Okay, I just had to get that out of the way. Now, back to the business at hand. What Is The Carolina Renaissance Festival? Hmmm...how to actually describe this? Set in medieval times, I like the way WCCB puts it. The Carolina Renaissance Festival is a combination of outdoor theater, circus, arts and crafts fair, jousting tournament and feast, all rolled into a non-stop, daylong, outdoor family adventure. Would you like to be a part of bringing this to life this fall AND get paid for it? Then the Carolina Renaissance Festival auditions are a must for you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIcuUbx_boA&pp=ygUiY2Fyb2xpbmEgcmVuYWlzc2FuY2UgZmVzdGl2YWwgMjAyMw%3D%3D When Are The Carolina Renaissance Festival Auditions? To try out for the cast of this year's 31st Carolina Renaissance Festival, here's what you need to know. For starters, ALL potential cast members MUST be at least 13 years of age. Pre-register for your Carolina Renaissance Festival auditions here. The auditions themself will be this Saturday (6/15) from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and next Saturday (6/22) from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy located at 16115 Poplar Tent Road in Huntersville (right next to the festival fairgrounds). If All Goes Well At The Carolina Renaissance Festival Auditions? Don't feel like if you've never acted this way or with the necessary accent(s) that you shouldn't audition. I get the vibe that the Carolina Renaissance Festival is looking for cheerful, extroverts who love to have a good time making others happy. Then, they take it from there. According to the festival's website: Accepted cast members are to participate in a series of FREE summer workshops and rehearsals that will prepare cast members on how to adapt their skills to the outdoor, renaissance theme. Sessions include classes on costuming, period language, accent, character development, improv, and more.
