90’s TV Star Diagnosed With Breast Cancer

Sad news from one of the stars of a very popular 90's TV show. You knew her as Topanga on "Boy Meets World." Scary News "Boy Meets World” star Danielle Fishel reveals on a podcast that she has been diagnosed with a form of breast cancer called DCIS. The condition occurs when cells inside a breast duct “develop changes in their DNA,” leading to too many cells. According to usmagazine, Fishel said she decided to share her experience with listeners to encourage them to get mammograms when their appointments are due or book one if they have not had one before. What The Future Holds On the "Pod Meets World" podcast, which Rider Strong and Will Friedle cohost, the 43-year-old actress broke the news. Fishel described her diagnosis as very early and specified it as high-grade DCIS with micro-invasion, which is technically stage zero.  “I’m going to be fine. I’m having surgery to remove it,” Fishel added. “I’m going to be on some follow-up treatment. I’ve had to make a lot of decisions over the last couple of days.” The Good News I am a two-time cancer survivor, and the silver lining in this diagnosis is "stage zero." The cancer hopefully has been caught very early and chances for a good outcome are very high. That's the good news. Of course, just hearing the word "cancer' is always frightening.
