The Circus Is Back, Just A Little Different
WJET says the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus are planning to tour again. The circus won’t have any animals but will feature highwire acts, trapeze artists, trampoline bicyclists, acrobats, BMX riders, and skateboarders.
The show is a complete rethink of a modern circus. The owners, Feld Entertainment, have been working on everything from how to integrate clowns, the branding, and the merchandise over the past four years.
Kenneth Feld, chair and chief executive officer of Feld Entertainment says, “We knew we were going to come back. We didn’t know exactly how. It took us a long time to really delve in and take a look at Ringling in different ways. It became a re-imagination, a rethinking of how we were going to do it.”
