Fire At Charlotte School Causes $2.5 Million In Damages

Charlotte Preparatory School has canceled summer camps and activities due to damage caused by an overnight fire according to WSOC TV.
On Monday night the Charlotte Fire Department responded to the three-alarm fire at the school. It took 90 minutes and over 60 firefighters to get the fire under control.
Officials say the fire started at around 9 P.M. and caused around $2.5 million in damages.
Victor Allen, the head custodian said that no one was inside when the fire started.
Allen said on Monday around 10 p.m., another custodian heard an explosion, immediately after a fire ripped through the school’s lower building.
On Tuesday afternoon the school sent out a message to families saying that there was only damage to one of the school buildings. The message also said that they have a plan for the start of the school year while they continue rebuilding.
