Here’s When To Turn Your Clocks Back In North Carolina

As an outdoorsy girl, it’s the time of year I loathe. But when my kids were little I used to love it. Daylight savings time is almost over. Here’s when to turn your clocks back in North Carolina.
One helpful saying my mother taught me that I have never forgotten is the old adage, spring forward and fall back. The end is near for daylight savings time. That means of course it is almost time to fall back. I do love that extra hour of sleep the night we turn the clocks back.
This year, daylight savings time ends on November 5 at 2 a.m. Best way to remember it is just turn the clocks back the night before. These days, “clocks” do the work for you. Your cell phone knows when to do it. But tell that to my microwave and stove clocks.
Daylight savings time could soon be a thing of the past. That’s what “they” keep telling us anyway. Lawmakers introduced the “Sunshine Protection Act”, in this act we won’t have to keep moving our clocks back and forth twice a year.
According to our source, The Charlotte Observer, studies have shown the extra hour of daylight is actually good for you. Safer roads, economic benefits and lower crime rates are a few of those benefits. To learn more, get all the details from the Charlotte Observer right here.
Study Finds Charlotte Douglas Is One Of The Most On-Time US Airports
Flying can be stressful these days. And for the most part, you don’t have too many options where you fly out or into. So when you need to get to your destination on time, it’s comforting to know that our local airport-Charlotte Douglas- ranks as one of the most on-time US Airports. I’ve flown several times in the past few months in/out of a total of 6 different airports and somehow I’ve gotten lucky and not had any significant delays or issues. But I’m well aware that’s not commonplace. Which is why this is such a telling and remarkable statistic.
It comes from a study by Booking.com, in which they ranked the US airports based on a number of key metrics. This included the percentage of flights that depart on time which is what Charlotte-Douglas ranked high in. To create their overall rankings they also used the average Google review score, average daily aircraft operations, total passengers on flights, the number of shops and restaurants, and other metrics. CLT didn’t crack the top 10 for overall rankings, but timeliness is in my opinion the most important. Shops and restaurants are nice, but ultimately I’m in the airport to get to somewhere else.
Keep reading to see exactly where Charlotte Douglas ranked for on-time flights (hint it’s top 5). You’ll also find the top 10 highest-rated US Airports. Want to read the full Booking.com study? You can do so here.
